It's a traditional turn based party RPG with a good 20 hours of gameplay. The story is simple, but still interesting. The gameplay is very straightforward and should be easy to pick up if you've played a turn based party RPG. There are dozens of classes to choose from, all of which are well thought out and made. The levelling system is also very straight forward. The graphics aren't top notch, but they are still pretty detailed, with no jagged pixelated edges or grainy patches. Since this game isn't very CPU intensive, it runs very well on any computer. The models in the game are well designed, so it's still aesthetically competitive against other new games. For a game that's less than 5 USD, it's a steal. For all of you gamers who crave the turn based party experience, this is 20 hours you don't want to miss. This game gets an A+ from me, and I can't wait for the sequel. 10/10 compliments to the developers. 1 Looks good and plays on my old PC. Sort of Heroes of Might and Magic feel (in a good way). Turn based tactics fans will have plenty to do. Will post later with more details but it seems like a very good price for all that you get.. I have put little time into this game but I feel that it is more than enough to understand at least the combat. Firstly I'll keep this short. Touting this game as a true strategy game is a little misleading. It plays similar in combat to games like Expeditions Vikings complete with hex movement, every unit having skills, and a semi tactical map. On the surface it seems to be a solid strategy game, but the lack of attack of opportunities and zones of control that are standard in games like this means that to block off a 3 wide area you must have 3 units, rather than 1. This severely hampers strategic play forcing you to bunch up your infantry so as to protect any missile units. At the same time it forces you to focus heavily on infantry, as the HP gap between archers and mages to infantry is massive and an enemy can easily slip through a single slot in the frontlines to decimate your archers. On top of that most ranged unit, from my experience thus far, are underpowered compared to the infantry meaning that they feel underpowered and useless.I personally think the game is pretty good the inventory system is interesting and compelling, the fact that you can switch your troops out to try different strategies at no cost is quite nice, and the varitey of troops, as well as the fact that you play as the evil side rather than the good guys is always refreshing. As stated above I believe the combat itself could be improved as of now it feels that you just beat the enemies till they fall, as blocking enemies off is tedious and ill rewarded. That being said the game is 7 bucks so I feel that for the time i plan on putting into it it is worth it, just don't expect the combat to feel incredibly rewarding. Just beat everything there is to do in this game on hardest difficulty and I have to say I'm pretty happy with it.If you're not interested in turn based combat, there's nothing for you here.If you've played Divinity or Divinity II this game is basically just the combat from those but less strategic, diverse, dynamic, and challenging but still a good time filler if after beating those games a couple times you still find yourself wanting more. The combat as a whole is fairly satisfying and for the earlier parts of the game can require considerable strategy.By the second half of this game combat was pretty much a joke but I had set up a pretty cheesy team and spent a reasonable amount of time in the store getting good gear.I imagine with a little less effort put into gearing and using a more diverse team this game could be a nice challenge from start to finish. If anyone is actually interested, the team I used was 3x Blade Dancers, 2x Vampire Knights, and 1x Soul Eater.. This is a nice find.. Turn based combat, tons of charachters to choose from, a merchant that you can buy/sell from between battles, 6 charachters to control per game, good variety of abilities, etc.The game is fun to play and runs great. This is a definite buy; especially at this price.. Bad game-It have only a few strange characters to choose to your team.-No sense of progression. (already start with full 6 characters team and only receive 1 item per map-bad animations/sfx/storyNot worth wasting time or money. Game just released and developer already pushed a patch with QoL enhancements for PC. I was a bit unsatisfied at first with some things being to vague. First patch implemented popup windows to show stats for skills what made things much more clear and enjoyable. You character slots level up at the end of a mission based on actions they did. Not sure of the exact math be attacking more and getting more kills seems to give me exp. Leveling up gives that character straight stat boosts. Also you get loot from winning missions or from the shop to that you can equip. Loot gives straight stat boosts as well and is how you would tailor your characters (e.g. more damage or more defense). The game is kinda like a very simple turn based Diablo (the first one), but with missions on small maps.. a really nice game. Don't really know what i'm missing here since reviews are mostly good, but I didn't get into the game (and I played 7/8 hours so I really gave it a try). The campaign suddenly becomes stupidly difficult ?? (from a few 100 hp mobs to 750 + 500 + 500 + respawning 80 hp mobs ? wat ? yes, spiders, i'm looking at you)Missing rows of 85%-hit-chance hits very regularly, because ** m-a-g-i-c ** (No clue about how the atk/def stats work together, or the damage resist)Mostly grinding for stuff, XP is too slow (after 8 hours i'm still level 5, can't grind my way through those damn spiders)Hesitated about stopping a couple of times, and the spiders conviced me.edit : ok i just tried to give it another go, just in case, and in a 10 minutes play I missed, on three different times, two 85%-hit-chance attacks out of three. I uninstall :-D
